Lakeland Manor Residents Take a Ride
by Mary Ellen Ryall

Shell Lake - Eight senior citizens from Lakeland Manor boarded the Sawyer County LCO/Namakagon Transit bus on Friday for their first ride on the newly appointed public transportation system between Shell Lake and Spooner.

The riders were delighted with the driver, Tresa Smith, who has a gift for making seniors feel right at home on her bus. Tresa taught the seniors the route so that next time they will feel comfortable taking the bus on their own. What trip is complete without ice cream? The bus made an impromptu stop at the Shell Lake State Bank for free ice cream that is promoted on Fridays and Saturdays throughout June, Dairy Month.

To obtain a bus schedule, please call (866) 295-9599 or visit the Shell Lake Senior Center for an up-to-date schedule.
