LCOOCC extends Happy Tonics environmental exhibit

By Mary Ellen Ryall

Hayward - Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa Community College's Migizi Cultural Center is hosting Winona LaDuke's traveling Indigenous art show titled "Impacted Nations."

Pat Shields, English faculty, recently informed Mary Ellen Ryall that Happy Tonics environmental and educational exhibit has been extended. The exhibit "Global Warming/Plight of the Monarch Butterfly" shows the link, through documentation and photographs, between global warming and dirty fuel. Global warming impacts native plants, invasive species, precipitation, drought, and causes additional risks to the monarch butterfly.

"Impacted Nations" and "Global Warming/Plight of the Monarch Butterfly" is open to the public through October. Shields' says, "The exhibit is extended due to popular demand."
