Mikulski
Renews Call for Labeling of Cloned Food
Washington, DC, USA - News from U.S. Senator Barbara A. Mikulski,
Democrat from Maryland. Mikulski is the originator of the
Cloned Food Labeling Act (S. 414). Please read the full article
at Senator Mikulski's Website.
A
week ago, the Food and Drug Administration endorsed the use
of meat, milk, and other food from cloned animals. This includes
its "progeny." It is possible that cloned animals
may be used to breed other animals. The original labeling
legislation was introduced in January 2007. Senator Mikulski
has led a valiant fight in trying to protect American citizens
from the threat of not knowing where their meat products are
coming from. She says, "Just because something was created
in a lab, doesn't mean we should have to eat it."
For
more information on Senator Mikulski's stand on Food Safety
Issues and her legislative efforts to protect consumers from
reckless passing of easement of cloned foods in the marketplace,
