III Annual Earth Day Event 2010
BEE Connected - Every Day Is Earth Day
On 24 April, Happy Tonics sponsored the III Annual Earth Day Event in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, USA.
It rained. We came prepared with umbrellas and thankfulness because we are in the seventh year of drought. It was as if heaven smiled upon us. Early in the morning we saw a Bald Headed American Eagle fly over. The messenger takes our prayers to the Creator. It is a blessing to have an eagle fly over.
Dr. John Anderson (Little Bird) and Ginger Wilcox (Mourning Dove) lead us in Ceremony to Honor the Bees. We learned insect, bird and animals words in Ojibwe and gave thanks for all our animal friends.
John used the thunderbolt drum which honors the rain and we sang in Ojibwe. Ginger when holding the Eagle feather gave a message. If we don't take care of Mother Earth now and the pollinators, the human species may not survive. Mother Earth doesn't need us to survive. Mankind needs Mother Earth.
We won't have a second chance to turn things around if we don't do something now to Honor Mother Earth.
